#RIP #BashLab for BashCore and BashCoreX... too slow 🐌, too unstable 💥, too risky ⚠️, and honestly... too much pain 🤕

I installed pure Debian with persistence on USB, but every time I created a new live ISO, it just never worked 💀

Making changes? Took 1.5 to 2 hours ⏳ each time… just to get another broken result 🤦

So, until I get a new computer 🖥️, I’m switching to my old Windows 11 PC (yeah, I know…) and working through #VirtualBox

Might be faster, more stable, and way less frustrating.

@nickbearded i'd say use nvme with encrypted persistence and kali which is basically just an upscale debian - super easy and a must have to travelers #luks
@gary_alderson Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve tried Kali too, but IMHO it’s a bit unstable for my workflow.
Right now, I just want something solid and reliable, hence switching back to Windows 11 + VirtualBox until I get a better rig.
Encrypted persistence on NVMe sounds great though, maybe for the future!

@nickbearded it is based on debian - debian is super stable

at least try it and see - it is literally like 5 commands

do you want oracle - you got oracle

@gary_alderson Actually, I’ve used Kali a while ago, installed it on a real machine.
At some point, the computer just stopped booting... Also, every update took ages because of all the extra stuff.
So, no, it’s not for me. I need something minimal, lean, and reliable, that’s why I’m sticking with Debian.

Thanks anyway for the suggestion!

@nickbearded user error - do image backups and then incremental backups and this will never happen again
@gary_alderson could be 😅
@nickbearded maybe? everybody makes errors, even the ai bus driver
@gary_alderson You're damn right, even the AI bus driver crashed into a wall while confidently shouting "all good!" 😅
Kali? That’s like getting on a party bus when all I want is a bike ride in the mountains 😅
@nickbearded you want to build a monster, remember?
@gary_alderson The monster has finally been unleashed… and it’s ALIVE!
It took time, patience, and a bit of madness, but BashCoreX is real now. Thanks for the nudge! 🤟
