Never call them smart glasses,
Always call them creep glasses.
Because that's what they are.

How about #SpyFocals?
@ramin_hal9001 @Em0nM4stodon Spy also sounds more legitimate; it sounds only a step down from moral neutrality, the sort of thing that might be employed in public service, say against a shady corporation.
Sneak glasses?
@dalias @usspacenut @Em0nM4stodon Is that all it's useful for? Yikes. I didn't think these things had the bandwidth or the storage to be useful for just recording nonstop and sending a live video feed somewhere. Hell, I have no idea what sort of scope it would take to just record millions of cameras and collate all that data.
I just thought this sort of thing would be useful for organizing a day for someone who can't even remember what they did yesterday, much less last week.
@dalias @usspacenut @Em0nM4stodon If I had to use such things, or if someone who has poor to no facial recognition had to utilize such things, I'd prefer it to use a local model, or a model and system under my control, similar to what Immich does for facial recognition. However, I suppose that it's too much to hope that one could get away with using their own personal data store without leaking the data to third parties.
Also, I guess such needs would be so incredibly niche as to not be worth implementing.
I still guess that such glasses would have to be parameterizing every face they see and sending that much data to someone, which means they're doing face recognition 24/7. Meh. What a waste.
Hope they like my face mask! I always mask up before going out on trips.
