I’m on a #kdrama pilgrimage today, visiting the noodle shop from Nevertheless and most importantly, the railway crossing from #MyMister, a leading character in the show. This is a super cute and trendy area with upscale cafés and restaurants side by side with very old and tiny houses and businesses.
@EllenInEdmonton Daebak! So cool.
Better than the #CLOY pier in Switzerland where you now have to pay to get on (not my pic, bc I did not visit when I was in the area but I heard people stand in line to get on)
@mel Haha, and then there’s the Goblin door in Quebec City! It was a place that I really wanted to see for myself. Everywhere is so 3D here
@EllenInEdmonton Oh, yes, but the rail road crossing wins!

Beautiful photos !

Reminding me of this :
Y'all might consider a trip to Amsterdam Centraal Station and do what Ha Ji Won did in 2012. Rent a bike and tour in the area around the city . You might have to be quick, millions reading this will soon line up !

There was a subbed clip once , can´t find it now.
Nice to imagine a Korean Super Idol walking and cycling around with nobody recognizing her. It was 2012, things might be different now.

Question for Ellen: We will soon be in Aberfeldy, Scotland. I can´t find the post about your heritage there anymore. Do you want to have pictures or info from there ?

@hanktank61 @mel
Ah, my Campbell clan is from Breadalbane and the family estate was in Aberfeldy. My family spent a very soggy day there when I was 11. I have a pretty clear mental picture of the place but up-to-date photos would be cool. Robbie Burns was apparently rather creative in the place, a point of pride, obviously.
@hanktank61 @mel Her hair and clothing are rather perfectly styled for someone who’s travelling by bicycle but I suppose she did it with a crew. Hopefully, they also travelled by bike.
It looks inviting but I’ve been telling everyone this is my 마지막 여행, my last trip, at least across an ocean. I may feel differently after life is back to normal but the logistics, cost, and energy required are nothing to sniff at.
@EllenInEdmonton @mel Ha Ji Won 's trip was for an Elle promotional tour if I remember well.
South Korea might be one step too far for us. Budget and condition.
Looking for next year already, hoping to go to Canada again, and include Toronto Koreatown.
@hanktank61 @mel
Korea is amazing but even with intensive preparations, it’s a lot to manage. I’m ecstatic that I still have my passport, phone, and credit card and that I was never seriously lost, ill, or injured.
Every year that goes by, these things will become more challenging.
Travelling where you have family and friends solves a lot of potential problems.
