Hello Mastodon Peeps.

I have a birth announcement.

(Yeah, I know it's corny, but I've been creating birth announcements for each book, beginning with my firstborn novel in 2001. Back then I didn't have photoshop.)

(Edited because I had the wrong date of my firstborn. My oldest is over 21!)

And now, a moment of reflection. After so many books (and several decades of writing) I understand that writing books is a way to leave my footprint on the earth. My contribution: Books that go to schools and libraries.

(Not that I am going anywhere. I intend to live forever. But occasionally I suppose we all think about mortality.)

@Teri_Kanefield That's a really good way to think about it. And so there are three genders: male, female, and book 😁

BTW even postpartum depression is a thing with books, and with dissertations...

@Teri_Kanefield

Immortality, nah. I wouldn't want to live forever. Your books though, I have no doubt they'll endure and educate future generations long after we are gone.

Congratulations on another excellent addition to your glowing (and growing) body of work.

A NY Times Review!

@amyedge

A first for me!

@Teri_Kanefield
Did you know that the NYT was going to publish a review?

@amyedge I had a head's up from the publisher, but I didn't know the content. They said the NT Times was "excited" about my book so they were optimistic. To me it meant "I'm set up for a fall."

Then my humor took over and I said, "If it's a bad review, I frame it with the caption, At Least I Was Invited to the Party."

A friend in New York saw it first and said "don't worry. It's good."

@Teri_Kanefield

oooooo, I get to be the first to congratulate you on the interwebs!

Go Teri! Go Teri! Go Teri!

@Teri_Kanefield

Congratulations Teri!!! πŸ‘

@Teri_Kanefield
I didn't think 'Corny'. I thought 'Clever'.

It stopped me scrolling and caused me to look. And now here I am commenting.

Congratulations!

@clintruin had a party for my first book (before social media) and I used the birth announcements as invitations LOL

@Teri_Kanefield @clintruin
That's really clever and fun

They're sort of opposites, though, no? With books, the creation is the hard part and the maintenance work is easy

Looking forward to reading it

@Teri_Kanefield do you have a favorite, preferably small & privately owned, bookstore to purchase from online? I do not want to utilize amazon (if possible)

@MillardPhillmore I don't! But if you have a nearby bookstore, they can order it for you (if they don't have it in stock!)

That way you can support a local business.

@Teri_Kanefield
Congratulations on your new baby! πŸ“–πŸ₯°

@Teri_Kanefield

And quite a book it is! Everyone, no matter how young or old, should read it to better understand our Bill of Rights, its history, and its importance to us all.

The timely history of the Bill of Rights

By Ande Jacobson Teri Kanefield’s writing is often quite timely, and her latest book is no exception. At a time when individual rights are in peril, Kanefield’s upcoming book, Rebels, Robbers, and …

A Good Reed Review
@Teri_Kanefield I was so excited when the book dropped onto my Kindle just after midnight! I'm already through the first 3 amendments.
@Teri_Kanefield
I got notifications today for two! I seem at some point to have ordered an ebook and a hardcover πŸ˜„ One for the little library!
@Teri_Kanefield Congrats, Teri! May your book grow to change the world for Good.
@Teri_Kanefield My copy arrived yesterday! The book should be required reading for all cabinet members!
@Teri_Kanefield this is my family motto…
