Discussions here about multi-season #KDrama seem on point as I read glowing comments about #ResidentPlaybook. ESPECIALLY comments that they set up the end of S1 for an S2 - an S2 that will not happen. THAT is why I hate & avoid multi-season shows. Give me one and done, tyvkamsa!
@ronsboy67 it's a #tvN show, so Netflix might not be necessarily involved in a second season.
As for multi-season dramas, I believe it makes financing easier. When production knows the first season is being successful, they can immediately use the ad revenues to start writing/filming a sequel.
Personally I don't have a strong opinion about multi-season contents. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Dr Romantic is a successful 3-seasons k-drama, for instance.
@s1m0n4 S2 won't happen without Netflix since S1 ONLY happened because of Netflix. The domestic situation in SK made the show unairable for so long that Netflix was TVN's saviour for S1, if NF won't pony up for S2, it's safe to say it's dead given the state of #KDrama financing.

@ronsboy67 I don't know the details of who owns what in terms of production and distribution rights, but if #tvN has the intellectual property, then #Netflix isn't the only international VOD platform out there. Disney+, Amazon or even Viki could buy the streaming rights.
The show is successful, the ending hints at a 2nd season and the political turmoil for SK doctors might as well calm down. If it doesn't, there's always international viewers to target.
