I mentioned the other day this game I had been playing called Arcade Paradise. It was supposed to be a game about managing a video arcade in the '90s. But you didn't start out managing a video arcade; you started out running a laundromat, and had to earn enough money doing laundry to slowly convert it into an arcade. And I found the laundry stuff more engrossing than the arcade stuff. As a joke, I said they should have just made a laundromat game.

Anyhoo, it turns out that someone actually did make that game. And the two are similar enough mechanics-wise that now I'm wondering who ripped off whom

Steamで40% OFF:Laundry Store Simulator

ランドリーストアシミュレーターでは、小さなお店から始めて、設備をアップグレードし、スタイリッシュなお店をデザインし、サービスを拡大していくことができます!世界最高のランドリーショップを経営する準備はできていますか?

Initial reaction: Arcade Paradise is much more polished. But Laundry Store Simulator has ironing and folding minigames. So who can say which is better
For some reason you wander around your laundromat in Laundry Store Simulator with both fists up, like it's the kind of laundromat where at any moment a bare-knuckle boxing match might break out
I used to play combat flight simulators. I had the cold start checklist for the F4F Wildcat memorized. Now I'm comparing laundry simulators. What happened to me

Disclaimer: I have so far only played the Laundry Store Simulator demo, which is pretty strictly focused on the mechanics of running a laundromat. Some of the Steam reviews indicate however that the full game may have (clears throat awkwardly) A Lot Going On

Steam Community :: Thelliana :: Review for Laundry Store Simulator

The concept is interesting but it seems like the people who made it aren't simulator fans themselves. I say this because they felt the need to insert all kinds of events and characters into the game to "make it interesting" but sim players are interested in the simulation. For example: There is a ghost hanging around outside, the chick from The Ring, a domestic terrorist planting pipe bombs in your machines daily, and 007 soliciting you for missions, plus many more. It is too much.

@jalefkowit SA is nonsense, going past your shoulders at the laundromat is clearly a mating ritual. I saw it in a film once.

@jalefkowit Sounds like it's basically streamer-bait.

Streamers can act totally shocked at the wackiness and occasionally shout "I can't believe this is on Steam!!!". Good content.
