@taoeffect That's an easy one. They needed mesh tyres for the story but they can't support any weight and drive.. so they used the dummy.

@taoeffect They wanted to show those ‘rooster tails’ of fine dust going into the air. They couldn’t make the tires spin like that with a heavy car. Also it wouldn’t bounce around and look weightless if fat John Lear was driving it.
