After receiving the components, it's time to start the TIX Clock project. 🪄

The WS2812B LEDs are controlled via the ESP32-S2 mini using MicroPython. The time is updated over Wi-Fi from an NTP server during boot.

Now that the TIX Clock is running, all that's left is the right case. It's clear that it needs to be a bit larger.

The Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D printer really had to put in some work printing all those light limiters for me.

But things are coming along. I just need to finish the top row and work on completing the frame with the white fabric cover.

Once that’s done, you’ll be able to clearly see the squares when it’s turned on. I already tested it with a frosted plastic panel, and it looked really great. Of course, I didn’t take a photo of it, so it stays a surprise!

The project is finished!

It’s now called Space Clock because it should also be possible to display other variants on it, such as a binary clock, even though the Tix version is definitely the most impressive.

You can now find it at Haxko in Andernach, Germany, during opening hours.

@dr_muesli @haxko where does it go while the space is closed? is it now the key master of the space? ;)
