Backdoors & Breaches at Nearshore Cyber Backdoors & Breaches is an interactive incident response tabletop simulation, played like a strategy game similar to Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: The Gathering. Developed by our friends at Black Hills Information Security and Active Countermeasures, it features 52 unique cards that help teams practice real-world cybersecurity scenarios, learning attack tactics, tools, and response strategies. At Nearshore Cyber, we’ve been organizing and playing Backdoors & Breaches for over two years, running engaging sessions where Peter Schawacker serves as the Incident Master and joining him John Stauffacher. We’ve also collaborated with Black Hills Information Security to translate the decks into Spanish, making the game more accessible to the Latin American community.
