The headache I'm getting trying to understand how Mastodon and Lemmy and MBin work together is over 9000

Before you comment: No, they don't federate everything by default/design. In example, posts on Mastodon tagging a Lemmy group are visible through Lemmy as federated posts but don't get pushed on MBin in the same Lemmy magazine.
