We're well over 90F, may hit 100, definitely somwhere +25F above average for spring. Been texting friends to share the abundance. Too hot to make my favorite tart. May need a simple chutney recipe.
So far with this season's harvest, we've been able to share with 6 other households. One more expected. Each got a gallon bag of the fresh peaches. There are still some on tree for birds and pollinators, the mourning cloak butterflies are frequent visitors.
We've given away the larger peaches. These are the smaller ones. Yesterday, the batch was tart from scratch. Today, the batch is frozen pie crust. #pie #gardening
Last bag of peaches picked up tonight & we got a bag of lemons in trade 🍋
That makes 1 peach tree feeding 7 families
I didn't expect to be adding more to this thread
Yet we had a lovely delivery
One of the families we shared a bag of peaches with came by today with a bottle of wine 🤗
We have a shared interest in each other's elder dogs
