I can't think of anything more hypocritical than a British person complaining about another human being, upping sticks from their homeland, travelling around the world for a new life! When they still glorify their long dead Empire.
A few things come to mind when I read words like Starmer's - the reason some British people don't want people coming into their country is because they are frightened they will
behave like they did when they rocked up to their shores.
Also, you shouldn't have went around the world proclaiming that everything and everyone they saw was now British and belonged them, this one of the consequences of that.
Of course, they want to come and see how great Britain is, you told them it was.
Do British people ever stop to think about the damage it did when it rocked up to the countries that they took over? That is the reason I speak English not Irish.

Unfortunately yes Geri, Ireland was only one of many countries that the British rocked up too and went about destroying the way of life that already existed there.
Plus they didn't even need to leave their own island to try and destroy other people's identity - Scotland, Wales and Cornwall all suffered.

It's all in there, from a base of raw Saxon, the Celtic creolisation, Latin, Danish, French. You couldn't create a conlang more representative of the people and history of this corner of the world.
