One of the most repair-friendly computers of the 80s. Our #Sharp #MZ80K in the museum. But ultimately, it was also one of the dumbest computers ever launched.

@Rp12Biker it's a beatifull PCB full of IC
@Rp12Biker as I have learned, the japanese followed the concept of the "clean computer" which means that there is no default firmware or programming language available after turning it on. Instead, there's a tape loader which then loads whatever language or utility the user wants to use. I think the MZ80 came with BASIC on tape and there were other languages available fom Sharp.
@Wintermute_BBS You're fully right, I know this background. But waiting 15 mins for loading a programming language is aweful ;)
@Rp12Biker I'm curious: did the MZ80 support floppy disk drives and were any available for it?
@Wintermute_BBS
Not from it's main ROM. There is an additional one in the expansion I think. And some of the newer BASICs support the drive. But haven't get it running 😪
@Rp12Biker not dumb - “focused” 😎 @sharpworks

@Rp12Biker And one of my first "non #atari, #Schneider & #Commodore computers ....

Bought my one on a fleamarket and had to carry it around two km ....

That was really heavy ...

And this computer was full of dust ....
