Would you like to know how to do honeycomb darning? Well, I made a little video.

@tefferbear omg I love this!! Such a thoughtful and relaxing video! 🌞
@tefferbear Very cool! I'm going to have to try this on the holey sock that just came my way.
@jendefer let me know how it turns out!!
@tefferbear My previous "technique" for darning looks very messy. I will definitely try this out. Thank you!

@tefferbear

Thanks! I can imagine this method working well for the hole in the armpit of a jumper!

(I don't think I would use it on a sock myself, because my feet would not like the texture :-) )

@unchartedworlds i want to try it on knees and elbows!! Re: texture, I actually have not found it too bad as long as the thread used is very soft.
@tefferbear Clear and simple. Gonna give this a try soon.
@tefferbear I was expecting a "beware of the bees, tho"
@tefferbear It seems like this would leave you with a lump right in the middle of the patch, which, for socks, means right in the middle of your heel where you have to step on it all the time. Can that be avoided?
@zwol i haven’t had that as a problem, but I recommend using soft, thin yarn or floss to keep the patch as smooth as possible, and don’t yank on the tension, let it build naturally.
@tefferbear thank you so much for this tutorial. I haven't come across the technique before. How timely as I have 4 socks to darn so I can try it out straight away πŸ₯³
@Helenisenough so glad it helped! I really like this technique (all my socks are wearing it)
@tefferbear so quick and straight forward. Thanks again 😊
