A mini-masterpiece from David Zinn to brighten your weekend.

Very HMV, EMI

#Art #Artwork #StreetArt #Artist #DavidZinn

@Natasha_Jay Correction...not EMI. HMV (aka "His Master's Voice") was the logo of Victor Talking Machines, which was purchased by RCA. RCA eventually (through several more acquisitions) became part of SME.
@unattributed @Natasha_Jay my grandfather worked for RCA Victor for years back in the day. He gave us many, very heavy, 78s I think, of all the major operas. Beautiful things they were, and they all had the classic RCA Victor logo with the dog and gramophone. Brings back memories. And I recall as a teen wanting to buy a large RCA dog for my room, but it was totally out of my price range

@Natasha_Jay Finally, something NEAT! And not human.

How do you move in a world of fog
That's always changing things
Makes me wish that I could be a dog
When I see the price that you pay
I don't wanna grow up

@Natasha_Jay I don’t know you at all so this might sound random, but bear with me. Mijn Mum (79, proud oma to a slew of lgbt+ gandkids btw) loves David Zinn’s images and for months she would share them on socials daily. She is now in the last days of her life, which came quite suddenly, and seeing this picture appear in my timeline gives me some comfort. So thank you. πŸ™πŸ»
