A Justice Department attorney has sent an email to our lawyer, David Seide, informing him that USAGM expects VOA staff to begin a “phased return” to work and programming to resume next week.
@w7voa This is fantastic news. So happy for you and all your VOA colleagues!

@w7voa yeah, good luck with that, I'd tell them.

  • Cuz I do know that many already GTFO'd overseas.
@w7voa Staff will get back pay?
@w7voa Really happy for and proud of you !

@w7voa

Congrats and good luck.

@w7voa Hope for the best. Thank you for continuing to speak out.
@w7voa finally good news. I hope it lasts!
@w7voa This is fantastic news!!!
@w7voa wonderful news, congrats!
@w7voa Great to hear, but it makes me mad to think of all the unnecessary disruption to people's lives because of one or two power hungry idiots who think that laws don't apply to them.
@w7voa This is a huge win for real and open journalism. Also - congrats!
@w7voa Fantastic news!
@w7voa All the best staff have, in the nature of such events, presumably found other jobs by now?
@w7voa I would tell'em, we get to say what we will and no censorship or even threats thereof, and also we're gonna set up an America-specific channel under the same conditions, either that or yuck foo... journalism under threat of censorship is the bad kind of propaganda.
