I swear, #Tusky has started this bad habit of freezing and closing when I'm in the middle of a post and I lose it. That's the fourth time it's happened.

What I was saying, is that I found this #Tintation brand of hair colour (it's American, so I doubt I'll buy it again). It was pretty cheap in Pak's (£4), so I thought I'd give it a try. The #Schwarzkopf Live colours do stick around quite a long time (last time I think it was about a year, albeit faded, but still pink). This one seems like it will wash out a lot faster, but there's more of it, so I can always reapply.

My number one brand of bleach was the #SmartBeauty one. It got my very dark brown hair all the way down to platinum with two applications, so I could even use pastel colours. And it was only £2 a pack. They seemed to discontinue it a few years ago. This #JeromeRussell one can't get me lower than strawberry blonde, so I have to stick to colours that will blend well, ie pretty much just hot pink. I wanted to do turquoise, but I don't want to spend all that time and money just to end up with a sludgy colour.

Edit: I looked up smartbeauty to see if they'd brought back their bleach and not only has their new version gone from £2 to almost £13, the entire site is just filled with awful AI slop images. Ugh. It's such a shame, they were a great brand.

This bleach kit has THE worst gloves ever. Now I have bleach on an open cut.
Yay ✨ I am now partially strawberry blonde and my hair doesn't actually feel too much like straw. I always wait until my hair dries fully before applying the colour, otherwise it just dilutes the intensity, especially as I can't get my hair down to a light blonde anymore.
Even better, the skin on my hand where the bleach went is all flaky now. Thanks, Jerome.

Ugh, for some reason, I didn't even notice that this #Tintations colourant is not vegan (contains keratin and collagen ie gelatin) and I can't see any mention of it not being tested on animals, so I definitely won't buy this again. The skin and hair care products I buy have been vegan and free of #animaltesting, so I suppose I took it for granted that this one was too.

Apparently, even #Schwarzkopf Live is tested on animals, so I won't be buying their colour again. Their pink colour at least is #vegan fwiw. When you see vegan, you just assume that includes not testing on animals, but they are careful with their wording, ie vegan formula, but not vegan friendly.

One of my colleagues gave me a pack of the Schwarzkopf Live pink and it worked well, so I switched to them and I just assumed that they wouldn't test on animals, since I thought that went out of fashion for cosmetics decades ago.

It looks like #CrazyColor (the first brand I used, actually) is fully vegan and doesn't test on animals.

The first colour I did was pastel lilac 😞 The reason I stopped using it was because last time I used their Pinkissimo shade, the colour washed out immediately on the first rinse, even though I left it in for hours. But I think that might have been because it was old. So I'll go back to them next time I need to top up my colour and hope the colour sticks. I very nearly did buy it last time, I wish I had!

Cruelty Free Hair Dye | Crazy Color

At Crazy Color, we're as passionate about protecting animals as we are about vivid hair colour. That's why we use cruelty-free ingredients, without any testing on animals.

The purple came out really nice, but I think the Rebel UV one is meant to be mixed with a straight pink, because it's barely had any effect. Either that or I just have too much ginger tone left in my hair. It doesn't say anywhere on the instructions that it's not meant to be used alone. Oh well. Back to Pak's for some pinkissimo.
