Myanmar junta accused of hoarding aid as local groups scramble to respond to earthquake

The Myanmar military has been accused of hoarding life-saving relief while survivors endure soaring heat, disease, and displacement in earthquake-shattered Myanmar.

Since 1 February 2021 coup 6,589 people have been killed & 29,094 people arrested by the junta’s seizure of power. 22,187 are in detention, 10,789 are serving sentences.

April 1 to 30, 2025, the junta killed (96) people in total; (48) women and (48) men, across the country, including (21) children under the age of 18.
