In her Letterboxd interview, #Gerwig called the film “Incredible, amazing” and named it as an influence on the production design in “Barbie. “Jacques Tati is the king of the slow joke. The way those #movies unfold are just so perfect,” Gerwig said. “I always thought of Mattel as existing slightly in Jacques Tati’s world.”
