@conniptions I am in the US and I was kind of rude to the NH Disability Rights Center last week because they sent out an email about a screening of a film that I was interested in seeing, I think it was about the genocide in Gaza but I could be confusing that with a book signing ticket I recently bought.
Anyway, I messaged them and I asked them what kind of airborne virus protections would be happening in the theater. Mandatory masks or air purifiers or anything?
They were so proud of themselves when they replied and told me that masks would be provided for anyone who wants them, that I have a permission to wear one if I want to, and they will have hand sanitizer.
Something about people telling me I’m allowed to wear a mask when I inquire about airborne virus protections really pisses me off, I don’t need permission from them to wear a mask because I’m going to do that wherever and whenever I want.
I’m sure it’s some kind of defect in my personality that makes me want to verbally punch back at people that say that stupid stuff to me.
I unsubscribed from their emails and I hope to never hear from them again. Pretending they care about disabled peoples’ rights and then inviting them to screen a movie where they tell us hand sanitizer will save us is just . . . I am done with them. Shunning commenced.
#MasksWork I am still a #novid even in the 6th year because I don’t let peer pressure ruin what bit of health I have left.
