Through A Nightmare, Darkly
One of my favorite quests in #Oblivion (The OG one), lovingly remade in the #remasterd version.
This was a fun one to relive with Ponders-the-Orb and not just because it features orbs.
(I missed a lot of screenshots in this one sadly. I'm using #Steam F12 to take them and sometimes they just don't register.)
Kud-Ei is missing a friend and Ponders is here to help!
Her friend, Henantier, is trapped somewhere and needs Ponders' help to rescue them.
Kud-Ei will show Ponders the way to where they're trapped.
Somehow Ponders is feeling a bit sleepy... 😴
Henantier's pad looks nice! Although this does make Ponders think Henantier is trapped not like in a cage, more like stuck in a sex thing... 🤔
Kud-Ei sets him straight on that one real fast.
Kud-Ei gives Ponders one last warning before he goes to sleep to rescue Henantier.
"If you die in your dreams you die in real life"
Ponders just wants a nap.
Whelp, Time for a nap.
Ponders lies down, closes his eyes, and slowly drifts off to dreamland... Henantiers dreamland.
Oh hi, Henantier.
He seems a bit confused. and by the look of his eyes, Ponders wants something of what he's smoking... ☘️🚬
Ponders realises he's practically nude, save for a loincloth and the Dreamworld Amulet.
And the amulet casts Silence on him so he can't summon his Daedric drip dispenser.
Ponders perceptively percieves Perception (the element of)
What a lovely orb to ponder, Ponders-the-Orb thinks to himself after nearly being hacked to pieces by swinging blades in a dark void.
Next the Test of Patience. Ponders needs to be very perceptive for this one, no need for patience though, he can just run through this, he just needs to watch out where he steps.
Next up the Test of Courage, Ponders is the most courageous of all, according to himself.
Ponders wonders how the amulet and its Silence effect will stifle him in this one...
Fourthly, the Test of Resolve.
The forboding door makes Ponders ponder the Element of Courage, the Element of Perception makes him see the dried blood on the door, the Element of Patience is making him run out of his to escape this place.
Ponders may be a wet noodle of a mage, but seemingly he can take out two minotaurs bare-handed. however Ponders thinks these might be meant for Henantier... So is Henantier an even weaker mage?
Ponders is now full of Resolve! And broken bones... and a not so much of his blood anymore... Ponders remembers that healing magic is Silenced here... Oh dear.
Anyways, all four of Henantiers lost marbles got, time to book it out of here!
Now that Henantier has his marbles again, let's go!
Again this was one of my favorite quests in the OG Oblivion, the Remake with UE5 graphics made reliving it all the better.
Also I can't wait to play the #Skyblivion version of this!
(This will probably be the last of the Ponders-the-Orb series, it takes way too long to type these out for me. Perhaps I'll try video? There won't be voiced commentary.)
Also what did you all think of the Alt-Text on the images? Was it easy to follow what was going on?
