In the coming days you’ll see headlines like, “ICE Can Now Come Into Your House Without a Warrant.”

They will be false.

Trump’s Attorney General, who once accepted a bribe from him when she was FL AG, instructed her agents to ignore the 4th Amendment of the US Constitution.

That’s the story. It’s a bad one.

ICE cannot legally arrest you in your home without a warrant because Pam fucking Bondi wrote a memo.
@JoshuaHolland I worry that the word “legally” doesn’t mean what it used to in our current political climate
@sawaba it should for ostensibly neutral reporters and editors.

@JoshuaHolland I worry that reporters and editors have suffered the same decline

I’m not going to say everything sucks, but disappointment is my default expectation these days

@sawaba @JoshuaHolland Private disappointment is valid, but the only way we reinstate integrity is by "expecting" it in the sense that we throw a noisy fit when they don't deliver, threaten their subscriptions, make demands of editors, etc.
@JoshuaHolland Agreed. I fully expect that EVERYTHING from here on out will fall under exigent circumstances. In other words, they are certainly going to test this.
@JoshuaHolland Sadly, her memo does mean that if ICE does said illegal thing, the FBI won't enforce anything related to it. That's the big problem. The courts have and will continue to rule against the administration. But if no one enforces anything, well, tough.

The bar for action is low — a “reasonable belief” that someone might be part of a Venezuelan gang is enough.” #USPolitics #privacy

@JoshuaHolland I think we all know where this is going.
@JoshuaHolland if they bust into someone’s house and immediately deport them to cecot, it might be illegal but it’s not like they care.

@JoshuaHolland Not for nuthin'...
In the state of Tennessee, the law says that anyone in your home without your express permission is assumed, legally, to be an imminent physical threat to your safety...
...
Which means, in technical terms, if they get what's coming to them, oh well...

Check your local laws.
Sooner, rather than later.

@JoshuaHolland
Sadly, some of the American people have elected a bunch of lawless gangsters who have no respect for the law or the Constitution under which they were elected and which every one of them has sworn to protect. This is not going to end well.

@JoshuaHolland

I already saw one in my timeline this evening. I'll counter any I see again.

@JoshuaHolland I mean they can. it'll technically still be illegal, but they can. they likely won't ever be prosecuted or face any professional consequences for it. and if you try to stop them you will face consequences. that's the reality of it. law doesn't matter, enforcement does.
@JoshuaHolland If you live in the free world & are thinking of travelling to the USA follow this advice; #StayAwayFromUSA
@JoshuaHolland A constitution that can be ignored is not a viable constitution.
@JoshuaHolland They can try to scrub the 4th, but the 2nd is here to stay.
@JoshuaHolland they might walk in, but they won’t walk out.
