And special categories for Best Hymenopteran, Best Beetle, Best Tropical Bug, Best Temperate Zone Bug, Best Island Bug, Best True Bug, Best Pest... you get the idea.

For a moment there I thought you might have been referring to digital “bugs”! 😹
That might be a fun idea too, especially when you see some of the goofy game bugs that happen from time to time 😹
But real bugs in “insecta” are definitely a good idea!!!

@futurebird here in Aotearoa New Zealand we've been voting for "Bird of the Year" for a while now. It's a fun way to promote awareness for our native birds. Recently they added a new thing: "Bug of the year"
