IMO there’s a need for a review beyond Google. Lines are now so blurred between search indexing & the original legitimate interests in its use, established in case law such as Google Spain v AEPD and Mario Costeja González, & fair use in ‘snippets’, to search indexes being integrated into third party AI services, w/ implications for personal data those services ingest. Then we also have the Q of extended AI search summaries & whether they = fair use. /
Then we also have the issue of theft of property of authors & artists etc by AI companies - one example is #MetaBookThieves
