Someone just spent $8 million on $TRUMP memecoins after the president announced that the top holders would be invited to join him at a private dinner at his DC golf club.

The purchases were funded by a Binance account, suggesting the wallet owner is not based in the US.

@molly0xfff I wonder how much a POTUS goes for these days. Guess now we know.
@ozoned @molly0xfff this one already was bought by the MuskRat for $290B.
@molly0xfff probably one of his russian buddies ...

@Wintermute_BBS @molly0xfff I'm more hoping it turns out to be someone planning on giving him the Luigi Treatment.

If at minimum, for the irony of the possibility.

@Wintermute_BBS @molly0xfff Or an assassin. Sounds like an easy way to get in close for a kill. ๐Ÿค”

@rasterweb @dj_cthulhu @Wintermute_BBS @molly0xfff

Nah, a regular hit would likely be cheaper.

@Amgine @rasterweb @Wintermute_BBS @molly0xfff Eight million is cheap, tax deductable too.
@rasterweb @dj_cthulhu @Wintermute_BBS @molly0xfff I am suddenly reminded of Jim Bell for some strange reason.

@dj_cthulhu @Wintermute_BBS @molly0xfff

if only...

Maybe a good idea for a crowd funding project?

Actually it's probably some wannabe fascist big brass from the German "conservative" like Jens Spahn or Philipp Amthor.

@digital_bohemian @Wintermute_BBS @molly0xfff It's usually how these fascist coups play out. One of the major players is taken out. Which is an excuse to ramp up the oppression, increase control of the population and eliminate opponents. Trump or Musk are obvious candidates for sacrificial lamb.
@Wintermute_BBS @molly0xfff Hoping someone's bought them to gift to Kilmar Abrego Garcia. More likely a large wooden horse though.

@molly0xfff as always, our regular reminder that Jimmy Carter sold his peanut farm before taking office.
@kevbob @molly0xfff that man will forever hold the record for integrity as US president
@xuxxux @kevbob @molly0xfff which is exactly why he didn't get a second term. He didn't see Reagan's cheating with the Iranians until many years after the election.
@molly0xfff Seems perfectly reasonable, legal, normal, and/or 'perfect' activity under the self-dealing Trump regime.
@molly0xfff that seems really cheap, Trump is on discount now
@molly0xfff Boys looks like bribery is back on the menu
You People Made Me Give Up My Peanut Farm Before I Got To Be President

For generations, U.S. presidents have gone to great lengths to avoid potential conflicts of interest. When I was elected, I followed suit by placing my small business in a blind trust to assure our citizens that I would always put the countryโ€™s interests ahead of my own. Itโ€™s a vital presidential tradition. Thatโ€™s why I find it a bit curious that our new commander-in-chief has been allowed to ignore it.

@molly0xfff Yet another emoluments violation to throw on the pile. Maybe the next constitution will include some method of enforcing the laws.
@molly0xfff So ยงTRUMP is now short for STRUMPET?
@molly0xfff this is Banana Rupublic level corruption. I thought hiring your own kids to work in your government was level 5 but I see now this is a level 10 scale. Wow.

@molly0xfff I hope my Government in Westminster are seeing all this and realising the US is run by a bunch of crooks, and you can't sign deals with crooks.

@Lazarou @molly0xfff Well, you shouldn't, but Starmer may not have the backbone for publicly arguing the case for realigning our international relations and forging closer ties with the EU. That would take a degree of leadership and character he simply doesn't possess. He'll be too worried about upsetting the Brexiters and their billionaire backers.

He'll likely carry on negotiating with the Trump regime, perhaps even making some brutal concessions. We already know they're eyeing our NHS. ๐Ÿคฌ

@ApostateEnglishman @Lazarou @molly0xfff Not just eyeing it up, at least one of them is already in there I'm afraid.

Editing to add that this was started in the pre-Red Tory times, but looks likely to not be rescinded by them at the moment.

NHS signed Palantir contract โ€“ then carried on negotiating | Good Law Project

How can a public body sign a contract that isnโ€™t even finished? Itโ€™s time for NHS England to come clean over its contract with data giant Palantir.

@molly0xfff Someone might enjoy an arresting visit to the US! ๐Ÿ˜‰
@molly0xfff I can only think of one good reason someone would do this
@molly0xfff Didnโ€™t he say something along the lines of running country like a business? Business has to generate profit. I was more surprised about him selling merch on his official website.
@molly0xfff Of course in business shareholders would intervene if CEO was lining his pockets at their expense (unless the business decides to go private).
@CosmicCactus @molly0xfff In US business has to increase shareholder value. Weโ€™re gradually finding out who the US shareholders are.
@molly0xfff the nice part of #Shitcoins like that is that they are #AntiPrivacy so it's just a matter of connecting the dots, really...
@molly0xfff Access for sale, come get your access!
@molly0xfff so what you are saying is . someone Rush(ian)ed to spend all that money to get a (most likely illegal) private dinner at his golf club?
@molly0xfff I'd say... it's surprisingly cheap for an assassination possibility.
@molly0xfff nothing to see here. Definitely, totally on the level stuff.

@molly0xfff

Wow, a straight out request for payment into a president's personal account for access to a president.

@molly0xfff
Pay to play. Move along, nothing to see hereโ€ฆ

@Lioh

Ha.
My brain thought that was the world's deepest above-ground inflatable pool at first, not a fountain.
And it still really could be if the sponsorship is right.

@molly0xfff

To do what? Kiss his behind?

@molly0xfff
Keep an eye on new Executive Orders from the orange clown. Now serving rich people!
@molly0xfff I'm not worried about Trump being bribed. He lacks the minimum decency to deliver on the bribes he takes.
@molly0xfff ...ok? yeah that's what cryptocurrency is for
so you're saying the corrupt bribe taking politician is taking bribes, corruptly, through the cryptocurrency he set up?
thanks let me know if there are any other breaking developments ๐Ÿ™„
@molly0xfff It's TOTALLY not a bribe, though.
@stevefoerster @molly0xfff It doesn't seem to matter anymore. It's normalized as business.

@molly0xfff like 99% of #TRUMP trading happens on the offshore exchanges (maybe 99.99% if you include the bustling TRUMP perpetual futures markets which don't exist on #Coinbase in the US).
