@su_liam @selzero I donโt find it emotionally neutral. I find it sad. Thatโs why I used the word sadly.
I would love to see more nuns among us. They have historically had an important role in Christian life both spiritually & socially. They also represented an opportunity for women to live independently but in a community engaged in good works for others/society that is no longer seen as an viable option among younger generations of women or older generations who would welcome it. The loss of all that saddens me, & I suspect is not good for the world.
@selzero
One would think #racists would be a LITTLE more circumspect before accusing a major news outlet of "racism".
They live in a world where they see "The #Woke Agenda" being imposed upon them everywhere. ("The woman in the foreground looks Middle Eastern, ergo, she must BE Middle Eastern.")
The (obvious) question of WHY would the BBC show footage of Muslim women in a story about the Pope?" never even enters their mind. They are just SO threatened by #Wokeism that they see it everywhere.
@selzero is Grimes some sort of comedian?
I don't keep up with modern stuff...
I think there are very few subject-matter experts on social media.
But I know there are many millions of people who think they are subject-matter experts but are just uneducated shills. And I block/mute those people when I encounter them. On some days, blocking/muting those people would be a full time job.
@selzero I attended Catholic schools for twelve years. About half our teachers were nuns, wearing a variety of habits--from the older nuns wearing full-length dresses, to younger nuns in below-knee-length dresses, to the nuns at my high school who mostly wore black suits with white blouses. All wore veils.
So when I began to notice more Muslim women wearing hijab it barely registered with me. But I do know the difference if I bother to look.
@selzero @bobcromwell nope, those are Muslim women who are playing for their demon-god to take the Pope to hell.
