@SteveBellovin @chris I know a few places that, after they replaced their mechanical Solari boards with monitors, added click-click-clack audio over speakers, because the commuters have a Pavlovian response to the sound. (Boston South Station is one).
Just not the same.
Norman Wilson@mattblaze @SteveBellovin @chris NWK is now another. Saw it last fall. It's a screen, not a mechanical board, but it makes all the clicks and even imitates flipping through the choices to the desired one.
@mattblaze @SteveBellovin @chris In fact I'm not convinced Steve's video is of the old mechanical board. Looking closely it seems to me to be the new simulated one.
