Far and away the best thing in the entire Catholic liturgical year is the singing of the Easter Proclamation, also called the Exsultet (in English it starts out "Exult, let them exult, the host of heaven")

It contains lines like "dazzling is the night for me,
and full of gladness" and "this night
dispels wickednesss...drives out hatred, fosters concord, and brings down the mighty"<--brings down the mighty, yes. (1/3)

And this, the praise of the Easter candle that thanks the bees (rare for the Church to honor other living beings!)

"Accept this candle, a solemn offering,
the work of bees and of your servants’ hands... we know the praises of this pillar...
a fire into many flames divided,
yet never dimmed by sharing of its light,
for it is fed by melting wax,
drawn out by mother bees
to build a torch so precious." (2/3)

And here's a stealth recording I took of the cantor singing that portion of it ... (3/3) #Easter #EasterProclamation #Exsultet
