ISO French trans communities
I need a backup plan, and France is my most likely not-currently-fascist destination.
Anyone part of French trans communities here on fedi? I want to huddle with y'all (and learn French to the required B-1 level)

I'm looking for an online community to help me with the steps to
* qualify for language test
* navigate citizenship
* find community
* pick where to live
* all the other steps
Are you part of a community like that?

@exandra Have you considered adding tags to your post to perhaps reach more people? I almost quoted your post with some tags, but I wasn't sure if you intentionally avoided them.
Best of luck finding the resources you're looking for. đ©·

Bonne chance.
@exandra No links for trans communities (sorry), but for learning French, I did it after I moved to Belgium, and frantastique is a shockingly good set of online courses, maybe the most helpful thing I did: https://www.gymglish.com/en/frantastique
The story is goofy, the exercises are useful, and (unlike Duolingo!) you actually do things like conjugation tables to really drill grammar.
There are plenty of French trans associations and collectives around the country that help trans folks in regard to healthcare, administrative tasks, figuring out how to find a place to live, etc.
Perhaps you could check out this map once you have an idea where you might end up in France :) https://wikitrans.co/carte
Fransgenre, ACCEPTESS-T, OUTrans, (just to name a few) are some of the well-known associations that I'm sure will be happy to help you out if you reach out!
Otherwise https://wikitrans.co is a great general knowledge base for trans people in France. Unfortunately it's all in French, but feel free to let me know if you need help translating.
More broadly speaking, just know that you won't be alone in France, at least as long at you aren't deep in the countryside. Most cities will have a local trans community or collective that you can join or reach out to :)
