New issue of the Developer Science Review is out, folks! My article choice and annotation is pretty dang personal for this one, where I ask the question:

"For whom does intellectual humility become disadvantageous?"

Thanks in advance for reading and (I hope!) sharing your thoughts, reactions & experiences.

For whom does intellectual humility become disadvantageous?

"For whom does intellectual humility become disadvantageous?"

For everyone on the "sane" side of things in today's overtly hostile political discourse, where dishonesty and bad faith have become the norm for many in the public sphere.

@KFosterMarks I love that you shared this. I’ve been bitten by the intellectual humility aspect before. So many times that I’ve stopped keeping count. It sucks, and it never stops sucking; even worse, being honest about your achievements and what you’ve done and how you do it might come back to bite you in the *other* direction.

I’ve run into cases where honestly reflecting on my part in a project has labeled me as arrogant. Because it was unbelievable. I should’ve understated my role even more than I likely already was, and even that might not have been enough.

Anyway, thanks for writing this ❤️

This sounds like a thought-provoking question. Sometimes, too much humility can lead to hesitation or self-doubt in decision-making—an interesting balance to explore.
