Before Intuit became the foul operation it is today, it was one of the Silicon Valley companies I admired. Like so many other tech companies, the richer it got, the more evil it got. Its "Direct File" sabotage is the prime example:

@dangillmor Quicken and iTunes are the two pieces of software that made the biggest dives from excellent to horrible.
@dangillmor I have always felt that a bank or a brokerage firm should acquire Intuit. These orgs already have most of the data required for your taxes. These orgs could offer it as a service for a nominal price. Imagine doing your taxes and having 90% of the information already filled in!
