Hi, can anyone help me in my music notation learning journey? Finding the good and free/cheap ressources are difficult. I'm starting by myself and will get some distance ressources in some time but I'd life to work on reading music alone

@pitrouillesque musictheory.net is a great resource. Some more listed on my website, https://www.uptheneck.com/notation/
Also, Noteflight.com, online music notation program, has a free option. It's very helpful just to write some notes and listen to the playback.

@pitrouillesque If it's possible to learn from a person, maybe via piano lessons or the like, that's how I would recommend doing it.

If not, I'm sure it can be done through books! I don't know of any books for total beginners off the top of my head, but I would encourage you to favor books over internet resources on music theory stuff. If you have a local library, check it out.

@pitrouillesque

And if you happen to have a university library nearby and that university has a music school, you're likely to find some really good resources that way.

Good luck on your music learning journey! I bet you'll find it really rewarding. ❤️

@alisynthesis hi, yes I have some books, also a monthly subscription to a pzrsobaliszd program online. I'd love to get lessons in person to correct posture mistakes as soon as possible, even if I'm looking material on it and had took some good habits. I'll also register at the university library when I move away in a few months, it's not possible here
