In a series of meetings & phone calls, Epshteyn has extracted large commitments of *pro bono* work for Trump-supported causes & changes to the law firms’ hiring practices to Trump’s preferences….

#BorisEpshteyn has NEVER tried a criminal or civil case & carries a white business card that reads, “Boris Epshteyn, Esq.” that lists his Gmail account & a cellphone number. He calls a steakhouse in DC where he hosts meetings every week his unofficial office. His face is caricatured on the wall & the restaurant even stores a portable phone charger for him.

#BorisEpshteyn earned #Trump’s trust by overseeing his legal team after Trump left office & is regularly at the White House, admin ofcls said.

Some of the #LawFirms privately worried about negotiating with a lawyer who wasn’t employed by the govt & didn’t have a govt email address, some of the lawyers said. But they decided talking w/Epshteyn was their best path to avoid a govt investigation or executive order, the people said, after determining he had serious sway w/Trump.
