Being a tourist in the USA could land you in jail. Furthermore, you have to have your papers on you at all times.
Tourism is 9% of the USA's GDP. Trump just flushed away $2.4 trillion. Money spent in small businesses, restaurants, hotels, Airbnbs etc.
6.3 million jobs directly related to tourism.

@VeroniqueB99 what an incredibly stupid time in history

@codemonkeymike

That's an understatement...🙄

And the largest proportion of these tourists are #Canadians. 😂 🇨🇦 Elbows Up!! Tourism to #America way down! #Snowbirds are staying home, where the peaceful waters flow.

@JPK_elmediat @VeroniqueB99 @codemonkeymike But wouldn't most tourists, and especially those from close by Canada, return home before 30 days have passed?
I agree the current president of USA is an idiot, but would this really hurt tourism as an industry? Students, foreign farm workers and other long term visitors will suffer. But then again, yes, Canadians - go on and visit new places in your own country. Canada, the big brother of USA. Bigger, greater, behaving like an adult.

Sure. And are you carrying, at all times, paperwork that proves (to the satisfaction of an ICE officer) that you have been in the country for less than 30 days?

Good point, especially if Canadians don't have to get a passport stamp every time they cross the border.
As for me personally, I've not been a frequent guest before and am definitely not going there again until it has become a country with a functional democracy. Probably never, that is.
