The resolution reaffirms the precautionary princiiple in the context of all activities related to 🌊 ecosystems; & calls on States to consider the right #HealthyEnvironmentForAll in the 🇺🇳 Ocean Conference, yet it fails to recognize the impacts of offshore fossil fuels activities.

During the #HRC58 session, 25+ States provided a joint statement reiterating the urgency of #ClimateCrisis & its impacts on #HumanRights & stressing the need for the UN Human Rights Council to address fossil fuels as the main driver of the crisis.

The statement also reiterated that States must align their conduct with the best available science and States' responsibilities to tackle climate change for present & future generations, and highlighted the rights of future generations, including the right to a #HealthyEnvironmentForAll.
