On 8 April 2013, former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher, died of a stroke at the Ritz Hotel, London, at the age of 87.

And that day is today. You may dance a merry jig and drink a small beer, good citizens of England xx

Billy Bragg was a regular where I worked in West Dorset. When she died he said "I've made an offer to Conservative HQ to conduct the funeral service personally. By her own doctrine they should be bound to accept the lowest bid, so I've said I'll do it for a fiver. I'll even throw in the cardboard box"
