i have a new theory called alive internet theory where i propose that the internet is full of real people and you can befriend some of them even and maybe actually kiss them and more
@maia me sitting next to my spouse who I met on the internet: big if true

@SehrLesbisch @maia

me sitting next to my spouse i found thanks to being on the internet: Concerning

@Aphrodite @SehrLesbisch @maia Me sitting next to the evil and intimidating horse: chat is this real
@SehrLesbisch @maia me waiting to meet my 3 partners and the number of partners in my company will grow by 1 for each day: yes
Today one partner comes here
Tomorrow the second one will join
On Wednesday, my bday, we'll travel to my third partner to cook and bake and be so gay
@maia Natural stupidity my beloved .... . .
@maia Nice theory, but shrimp Jesus says kissing (and more) is a sin. /s
@maia
Oh hell no, I hope that is never anything more than just some crazy insane conspiracy theory...
@[email protected] it's true, i kissed 2 of them
@maia i've done it, you can too!
@maia this changes everything!!
@maia this is a dumb question but where'd you get the sprigatito plushie from the no fly list post I want that little guy too 🥺😭
@[email protected] queer internet theory, the internet is full of queers and such, based on my observations
@maia can’t be. There’d be so many people alive the world would be covered in dead skin cells they cast off. You’d never be able to keep your filters clean.
@maia But getting to know people, its so difficult.. internet difficult, people difficult.. still cute.
@maia Interesting....hmmm...almost like a community, Great idea
@maia idk if I have the download speeds for that out here in the sticks
@maia alive internet theory except with the addendum that people were meant to be nondescript handles floating ideas in the dark, instead of tinder profiles.
@maia (Star Trek alien of the week voice) What is this thing called "kiss"

@bstacey

Actually kissing is one of those human customs that's weirdly universal on #StarTrek. Name any humanoid alien species that gets significant screen time, and one of them has probably kissed someone at some point.

That includes Trill, Talaxians, Klingons, Betazoids, androids, Vulcans, holograms, Vidiians, Akaali, Ferengi, Bajorans, and even the freaking Borg Queen.

@maia

@maia
Can confirm, at least for anecdotal cases.

@maia

Wait, how does one access the "kiss-them" functionality? Like an app I don't know about or a secret torrent site, switch to Linux or something?

@maia Impossible! Impossible, I say! The one true Internet theory is the World-Wide Mad Deadly Capitalist Gangster Computer God: all Internet discourse (at least all that which exists outside of the Golden Shield) is controlled by one agency or another affiliated with the US/NATO bloc. And if the person you’re talking to isn’t a fed, it’s probably a cop looking to meet their arrest quota by pretending to be a kid so they can accuse you of “grooming” them.

@maia Check out my scary internet theory:

What If There Were Some People Who Thought That Nobody Else On The Internet Was A Real Person And So They Treated The People They Met There As If Nobody Else Was A Real Person But Actually Everybody Else Was Real Persons Too

@maia interesting interesting. Might need further research. Personal anecdotes confirm some of it though…

@maia @hazelnoot 🤔hmm not sure what it means that this theory is being espoused by an “actual kitten robot”.

Do kitten robots dream of “real people”?

@maia Put on your tin foil hat. As an AI language model, I do not possess a physical body to put it on you.
@maia dead internet theory believers are obviously hanging out in the wrong spaces
@maia unheard of! Have a headpat
@maia "So as you can see here, the Internet is a series of dudes..."
@maia can confirm: have visited an online friend's place and They Existed??!
@maia this post aged so well bestie
@maia “be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kiss everyone you meet.”
@maia *has gotten to know partners via the internet and is meeting somebody new tomorrow*
really doubtful of that theory :tinhatcritter:
@maia sounds fake, who'd want to be friends with me
@maia you wouldn't download a kiss
@maia Didn’t we believe that was a thing 25 years ago?
