The Harney County Sheriff's Office said more than 1,200 people were under the highest level of evacuation orders.

@ai6yr Same event from our satellite discussion. It's supposed to flood again... A bunch of my colleagues are down working to help stabilize the situation.

The hardest part is figuring out what to do for disaster debris management. The County is the 2nd smallest in the state for population and they have four landfills that do not accept HHW (household hazardous waste)...

I'm saying best bet is paved surface for a community collection site until we can figure out where to put it. The other option is that it ends up in the desert.

@ai6yr looking at snotel data from #NRCS, the whole basin has >150% of the median of snow water equivalent for the last decade, most of which was deposited during storms in mid-March. Already saturated ground in a basin plus historic snow loading =bad time for a town built in the bottom of the basin.
