#pcgamers Is the #metaquest3 a worthy purchase? also is the $200 price difference worth it to get the 3 over the 3s? also I have verified my pc hardware is compatible. I know it has some odd compatibility gaps for gpu's #gaming #VR #pc #meta #gamers #tech #technology

@shadow125
Meta is known for invading user privacy.

So if you want to run their software, it's your choice.

It is the cheapest but also is a lower quality headset. The only other high quality choice is basically HTC or PSVR which is way pricier.

@silo_bear yeah thats the major issue. If money wasnt a concern i would get the valve index but only becasue i seem to collect valve hardware like infinity stones lol.
@shadow125 My personal preference is to use a non-internet connected router and steam link to stream over wifi, so after its initial setup, my quest never reaches the internet again. I dont use any cables and I don't install any Meta software on my PC. ALVR also works for this purpose. Another option is suggested by my friend: if you are okay with running commands, you can put the quest into developer mode and adb install https://netguard.me/.
NetGuard

A simple way to block access to the internet per app

@shadow125 You would probably want to use VirtualDesktop and play wirelessly instead, the quality difference is usually negligible. This way you can minimize your Quests internet connection.

That said my Facebook account is mostly empty so I dont mind connecting to download a game or something.
