Sometimes, the most important truths are the simplest truths,

"Go to bed; tired is stupid."

@franciscawrites @bookstodon@a.gup.pe @bookstodon Just a photo of the cover and here I am mentally retracing my steps through the Tombs of Atuan. Might be time for a re-read.
@mnf @bookstodon@a.gup.pe @bookstodon The Tombs of Atuan is my favorite in the series. It's actually one of my all-time favorite books.
IMO, when speaking of The Tombs of Atuan, it's always time for a re-read.
@franciscawrites @mnf @bookstodon@a.gup.pe @bookstodon it's my favourite too. I should read the whole series again, it's been ages.
Nice cover on that one, btw
@jarulf @franciscawrites @bookstodon@a.gup.pe @bookstodon I have the Gollancz edition illustrated by Charles Vess. It has one colored illustration, but they put it upside down. Might be a collector's item! 😄
@mnf @franciscawrites @bookstodon@a.gup.pe @bookstodon I'm not sure if I'd be disappointed or amused if I had bought that one.😃

The illustration are black and white in the compendium but no amusing upside-down in mine.

Have you read the last short story in the series, Firelight. It was published in the Paris review shortly before Le Guin's passing. It's also part of the compendium of the series illustrated by Charles Vess.

I mean, Le Gun has made me cry many times, but that one short story left a mark.

I've always loved Ursula K. Le Guin, "A Wizard of Earthsea"
@gretchenkdeahl She one of my favorite authors and the Earhtsea series are among my all-time favorite fantasy books.
I agree with you absolutely!! :-) :-)
