@summerfallwinter I just stared at this for a while, then beckoned @jazzburn over and we both stared for a while.
Wow.
@dat ha! You should see what my whole-ass looks like... wait, no...
(I've been practicing hand-lettering for a few years now, so this was indeed a C+ effort. Maybe B-.)
The fact that this very nicely made text art is "half-assed" for you, because you already spent a bunch of time refining your art which you did (semi?)-professionally, actually just shows the real appeal of ai-"art" tools.
I mean don't get me wrong, I appreciate your talent, but I don't have it, and so for me AI is a handy tool to do visual art in the few free minutes I have to do that.
@nicemicro @summerfallwinter and here you are proving your refusal to engage with artists or develop talent is fuel for the companies that *stole all of that*, grinding up years of experience and outputs from labour into the gruel you use instead.
There is always another way. You don't need to fake squirly fonts. They already exist, or you could commission an artist, or even just ask a friend who likes doodling. You could use something else
But you choose to patronise engines of theft.
@summerfallwinter @nonehitwonder
marvelous!
@purserj I don't mind, but these are @nonehitwonder 's words that I wrote.
(If I had known more than 3 people would see this, I would've written @nonehitwonder somewhere too!)
@summerfallwinter @nonehitwonder
Buy human.
@summerfallwinter Why would anyone automate their possibility of personal artistic development?
Why would someone rather be a judge than a creator?
@summerfallwinter @nonehitwonder
Say no more.
Chewed-up pencil on old promotional notebook with about a minute of doodling:
@nonehitwonder I do, and the things I don't like...
What do you like?
@rayglittersoft Right. Well, AI didn't invent those particular ponies; people did, and then another person took all those pictures without permission in order to teach their AI to draw ponies, and then THEY charge money for their AI to crank out ponies that are not as good and made out of stolen pony parts.
That, if you are curious, is an oversimplification of why a lot of people don't like AI.
