Sixteen Organizations Endorse the UN Open Source Principles | Office of Information and Communications Technology

The United Nations Open Source community is proud to announce that 16 leading organizations have the UN Open Source Principles, following the initial endorsement by the Open Source Initiative (OSI), bringing the total to 17.

@cryptpad I use CryptPad for my stream things like votes etc. I can recommend it, it is quite easy to use. Thank you for your great work.
@cryptpad Now that even the united nations has moved away MAYBE furry cons could consider it, too. But that's probably too much to ask.

@cryptpad

Nice! Congratulations, very well deserved vote of confidence in your software! 👏

@cryptpad When I click on the link in the article I get "This account was deleted because of inactivity"?

@gendor hello, probably your account when the web browser tried to log you in? Try in a private window?

In any case, the form they made is working and accessible.

@cryptpad I see, thanks for checking. It does indeed work in a private window. I cleared out some CryptPad cache files in my browser's local storage and now it works there as well. I have to admit, that was a bit of a confusing user experience! 😉
@gendor glad to know it works now. We'll take note of your feedback! Thanks and have a great day. :)
@cryptpad
Yeah, that‘s a step in the right direction.
But why TF are the links on the UN site over google.com?

@jj

Agreed that the bug tracker for decontamination of the unite.un.org website needs items such as:
* remove dependences on:
* googletagmanager.com
* fonts.googleapis.com
* gstatic.com
* jsdelivr.net
* cloudflare.com

Anyone know where the bug tracker is? Any UN geeks on Fedi?

@cryptpad @jdp23 Have you looked at this alternative to Google docs? https://cryptpad.fr/
CryptPad: end-to-end encrypted collaboration suite

CryptPad: end-to-end encrypted collaboration suite

Yes I have, in fact we've used CryptPad forms for our last few signon letters!

I also mentioned CryptPad as an alternative to Google Docs and Google Drive in the "organizing on decentralized social networks" session I did -- see the image for a summary (from https://thenexusofprivacy.net/notes-on-organizing-in-the-fediverses/#additional-topics)

@Em0nM4stodon's article for @privacyguides has a deep dive on the whole suite at https://www.privacyguides.org/articles/2025/02/07/cryptpad-review/

@Olyindivisible @cryptpad

Notes (and thoughts) on organizing in the fediverses and the ATmosphere

Some potential paths forward -- but the landscape is complicated.

The Nexus Of Privacy

@cryptpad A switch from Google-anything to European OSS-anything must be a good thing, regardless of OSS 😊 🇪🇺

Congratulations! 🤘

@cryptpad
👏 congrats !
And thank you for all your good work.
@cryptpad
And someone could tell them that questions 5 and 6 have the same wording
@cryptpad wow, that's great to hear! I 've been using it for a while, so now I feel like a trendsetter!!!!
@cryptpad great! I am already using CryptPad as well. Only if the usage on mobile devices to view/edit table spreadsheets (trying not to say e*cel) could be improved, that‘d mean an ever greater step forward 🙏🏼
@cryptpad Amazing milestone! Keep up the good work! 🤩 Congrats 🍾
