Q: How does the term "risk management" make you feel, please?

#deliverymanager #deliverymanagement

@jacattell

Very comfortable - as long as it's done properly and proportionately.

@HRCH glad to read that. How would you describe proportional risk management, please?

@jacattell

Risk x likelihood.
Remove/reduce the emotion - usually 'fear of what might happen'

Pay attention to the number of actual minor incidents (I forget what the pyramid is called that shows how failing to address 'slips and trips' or equivalent leads to more serious incidents.)

Pay attention to contributing factors, like tidiness - and help people understand why they matter.

I'm now curious about your reason for asking!

@HRCH nice explaination, thank you (-:

Asking cause I'm fascinated by risk management and making it more accessible to non-delivery/project people. Maybe even (dare I say) making risk fun, which I've had success with. Have you used risk radars before?

@jacattell
Hi there. We started working in H&S in the events industry. It was a bit raw! I didn't use any theories at first, so no I'm pretty ignorant I'm afraid.
@jacattell sometimes? Fine. Some other times? Like people want to write stuff down then occasionally talk about it.
@hillsy "write stuff down then occasionally talk about it" reads a bit like "add to spreadsheet and forget about it" πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
@jacattell it does, doesn’t it πŸ˜‰
