I saw #DisneysSnowWhite #SnowWhite yesterday. Overall, I thought the movie was ok. Definitely worth a watch when it comes to Disney+.

My biggest objection was with regard to the dwarfs. I'd seen the #WhistleWhileYouWork segment at #D23Expo , and I was pretty appalled at the look of the dwarfs. I really disagree with them being CGI but if you're going to go that route, do them well. They looked pretty terrifying to me, and those dwarfs are supposed to be cute. #MovieReviews #FilmReviews /1

In the film proper, Doc comes out best, looking pretty much like he does in the original film. Overall, the dwarfs look like a cross between trolls and gnomes, and not in a good way. Of the group, I think Dopey gets the worst treatment as far as his look in the film, and as a Dopey lover, I found that incredibly disappointing. /2

It's interesting that the film alternates between two different definitions of the word "fairest". I don't necessarily disagree with the additional definition, but it comes off weird when different scenes reflect the differing definitions and how they apply to each of Snow White and the Evil Queen. /3

The most magical thing in the entire film is the necklace that Snow wears, which bears the locket that her father gives her. That necklace is ripped off necks three times, and yet each time after, the necklace is able to be reattached by its intact clasp.

#RachelZegler is fine as Snow White, and she's really given a chance to display her good singing voice. #GalGodot is very good as the Evil Queen, though I was less impressed with her singing ability. /4

My absolute favorite bit of casting was #PatrickPage as the Magic Mirror. Brilliant.

There is a lot of talk about the various changes to this story from the original film. There is one major change that I really, really dislike. I wouldn't say it's wrong per se, but it's definitely a choice I don't agree with. /5

The new songs in this film are much better than in other recent Disney releases. #BenjPasek and #JustinPaul hit the mark again. My favorite is #GoodThingsGrow, but there are a few songs that could earn an Oscar nomination.
