Check this interesting #SonicPreservation project by some students from Germany. They're creating a collection of "dying and extinct sounds" with recordings of original devices e.g. landline and early cell phones rings, Super 8 projectors rattling, 56k modem, hand driven coffee grinders and and and...you get it.
