jfc, I don't think it's ever appropriate for a parent to comment on any kids' sexuality. This is horrifying.
I got called "devil child" too, but that feels like nothing compared to sexual degradation. Everyone needed therapy, but gd.
I'm studying to be a counsellor, so I'm trying to practice unconditional positive regard on its own (basically UPR is just accept people as they are and assume they're doing their best).
Still, there are certain concepts that still get me, like that.

You are your kid's guardian until they reach emotional independence. You are responsible for avoiding codependence (or whatever the latest, most similar term is, obv).

As an educator, we had to learn how to deal with these kinds of parents (loosely translated, they're known as parents who are perception oriented- caring mostly about the outside world's perception of them and their child)
