Emily Jazmin Tatum Perez was a West Point graduate. While serving in Iraq, she was killed in action by an I.E.D., the first black female officer in U.S. military history to die in combat and the first female graduate of West Point to die in Iraq.

The video documenting why she chose to serve in the Army and in combat has been deleted by the Army under the Trump Administration.

Erasing her from the collective memory of America will not be tolerated. - Mel Tansill

By all accounts, Emily, who was KIA in Iraq about a month and a half after my oldest son Ryan, was what we in the military would say was “high speed.”

@BrianJopek More honor in her pinky finger than in the entire current administration.

Duty, Honor, Country. All the way and then some.

Very sorry for your loss. Your son's service is something we are all grateful for.

Think about that for a second.

@BrianJopek Wow that sounds bad. As not US-person I wonder why you should delete such things.

@SaftyKuma That, and they want us upset about how ugly they are so we have less energy to deal with what greedy fucks they are. @krutor @BrianJopek

Thank you for sharing this. I know about the famous people who have been deleted but pretty much nothing about individuals who are being treated like dirt.

These Republicans are just vile.

@BrianJopek As I have said elsewhere, NOTHING screams my dick is sooo small I have to masturbate with tweezers like being anti-DEI and taking it out on veterans.
@BrianJopek They just can’t stand anyone smarter, braver or more noble.
@BrianJopek
To this European this rewriting of history is truly shocking 😡
@BrianJopek I wonder how the people who served with her feel about this? I get the impression many military folks support trump because of the tough guy projection he gives ( and those of us in reality know it's fake)
@BrianJopek She probably didn't care, but it's bizarre to see that even in the 21st century, women's military dress uniforms were just slightly modified from men's uniforms. The sleeves, for instance, look big enough to hide a small dog in. Because they just took the basic uniform that fit over her bustline, and then maybe took in the collar a bit and maybe shortened the sleeves. I wonder if it's still that way.
@BrianJopek This is the first time I've been angry enough to react publicly. The monsters that are doing this need to have a cranio-rectal inversion.
@BrianJopek Bigots will always try to delete history. It's on us to keep them accountable.

@BrianJopek

Deleting stuff like this from the internet is merely the modern version of burning books.

All heil the #nerdreich ....

@BrianJopek this is false. Her story and her bio are still on Army.mil.

This was a copy/paste of false information on Facebook. And you re-quoted it. Nice confirmation bias.

@realzardoz @BrianJopek

The post clearly references a VIDEO that was scrubbed, you f🤬cking lemming.
Y'all *always* project.

"Last month, Hegseth ordered the services to scrub articles, photos & videos that promote DEI within a week, which resulted in the removal of the wide variety of content.

The senators found it especially unacceptable that Arlington National Cemetery scrubbed information about Black, Hispanic and female troops from its "Notable Graves" website."

Lawmakers Demand Trump Administration Restore Removed Webpages Celebrating Troops | Military.com

@Incognitim @BrianJopek

Now if Brian had referenced that specific news story instead of crap copy pasta THAT would have been useful information…

Typical jackass response tho… I’m not a lemming - I could find zero to support Brian’s copy-pasta off of facebook.. in fact I could not even find THIS article.

@realzardoz @BrianJopek

Sounds like *you're* the one suffering from confirmation bias, then. Stories like this aren't hard to find- just takes a search.

Buuut instead- you blew through the post and shot off about it being fake news, because YOU probably saw someone on facebook call it that.

"The first female Army Reserve graduate of Ranger School and first female fighter pilot both had their stories deleted."

*At best* you're an ostrich, head buried deep in your ass.

DEI purge: Pentagon scrambles to remove then restore content

The Pentagon has faced questions from lawmakers, local leaders and citizens over the removal of military heroes and historic mentions from Defense Department websites and social media pages. Complaints have come in after the department purged online content that promoted women or minorities. In response, the department has scrambled to restore a handful of those posts as their removals have come to light. But due to the enormous size of the military and the wide range of commands, units and bases, there's been an array of interpretations of what to remove and how, as part of the Pentagon directive to delete online content that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion.

West Point isn't some country club Ivy League school --- Look at those stripes on this soldier's arm. This is a serious, dedicated soldier.

Not some "dei" bullshit.... she EARNED her spot. Earn each of those stripes

You will not see billy bob from Tennessee doing that

It's criminal they are trying to erase her and it's FUCKING criminal that #WestPoint would allow this to happen

The commandant of West Point should be marched out and made to answer for allowing this to happen.

@BrianJopek

Emily's, Jackie Robinson's, the picture of the flag raising at Iwo Jima and the removal of the Navajo code talkers are all examples proving tRump & his cronies don't even know what DEI is!

Idiots one and all!!!

@BrianJopek
Is it surprising when the people vote for a white supremacist government that they get a white supremacist government ?
.
All the people waving the flag of anti-woke, cheering at the dismantling of DEI, suddenly discovered that they are in the minority, that they are in the crosshairs...
.
Do you really think the racism and bigotry stops with immigrants...

Unfortunately, this deletion doesn't seem to have been reported by any news outlets. I'm sure that Ms. Perez's story is one of many that has been #deletedByTrump or #deletedByDOGE.

@BrianJopek

Just occurred to me IED has the same letters as DEI. Coincidence?

@BrianJopek Tip of the Cub cap to Ms Perez, gone but not forgotten.
