ANTI-CAPITALIST AFFIRMATIONS
- i deserve to spend time doing things that make me feel good and whole.
- i am capable of listening to my body and responding to what it needs.
- it's okay if i no longer have ambitions for a career.
- i am worth so much more than what i produce for the consumption of others.
- it's okay to redefine what a successful life looks like for me.
- i am allowed to enjoy things simply because they bring me joy.
- spending time doing something I love is enough
Plot twist...
Those are all capitalist affirmations. At least potentially.
Because if enough of us wholeheartedly valued them, choosing to forgo the other alternatives offered to us, then the market would more determinedly make those sentiments a reality for us.
To set the record straight on the biggest misconception I see in the Mastodon arena... Many participants in #capitalism desire extreme wealth, but its core rules would be the same whether its participants desired extreme wealth or not. Capitalism could exist either way. Likewise, any other economic system would be just as ruinous if certain participants desired extreme wealth. It's not mostly the system that does the harm. It's mostly the nature of the desires that participants bring to it.

I've been reviewing this one and I think maybe I've decided that no, actually I'm not. That's actually the very best use for me and exactly what I want. I'm getting mad because I feel like it's taken for granted, but that too...I want that and nothing really could make me feel better than to know my life served others so well they didn't even notice till I was gone...and at that point what do I care?

Create your own - as Nietzsche pointed out, in regard of his view on EGOISM: Overcoming yourself, not follow the Christian way of self-sacrificing your own will, to assimilate to the horde.. You should make your own way, AWAY from that horde..

it's okay for me to want things, and I don't need to prove to anyone that I'm deserving
breaks, rest, and leisure are normal and necessary, and no one has a right to make me feel guilty for taking them
