While looking for cheapish spaceship miniatures to finally get two fleets for #VoidAdmiral ready, I lucked into a basically mint copy of the "Noble Armada" starter box and a set of 6 capital ships for very cheap. (A ca. early 2000s spaceship wargame set in the Fading Suns universe of all places. O_o)

Alas, the ships in the starter box are a bit on the small side, compared to the absolute humongous resin ships I found in a bargain bin a year ago. (Which, TIL, came from a game called Firestorm Armada.)

So, now I'm wondering if I should keep them or try to sell them on.

Decisions, decisions...

#TabletopWargaming

Decided to keep it. Primed and drybrushed two 15 point fleets and now I just have to decide on not one but two color schemes!

So, I have two #Miniature #Spaceship fleets and I'm thinking how to paint them while still keeping it generic enough to use them for whatever strikes my fancy.

One is all sharp edges and bird-of-prey vibes, very kiki, if you know what I mean. These look less than friendly and could totally be pirates, space cultists, romulans, and other overtly threatening people.

The other is very much <strike>flying penises</strike> rounded edges, curved panels, twin nacelles and, while not totally bouba, certainly more so. Less overtly threatening at first glance (but still giant phallic battleships), these could be noble houses, space popes, the local space centrists or other we-need-the-giant-lasers-for-space-exploration types.

The question now is whether to lean into those vibes (red, grimy space hawks vs. Light-grey/silver penis ships) or try and subvert them. (Neutral light blues and greens of the Space Birding Society vs. The glossy black and neon pinks of the Church of Pleasure and Pain)

Hm, hm, hm.

Ideas and comments welcome.

(Of course, it doesn't help that Fleet Bouba looks much less cohesive than Fleet Kiki, IMO.)
(Also, I kinda wanna play EVE Online again, now...)
@minx jardowsky-style bright patterns are underrepresented in modern ship designs, do what you will with that.
@themoep hmmm, examples plz?
@minx sorry, jodorowsky is the name
@minx phallic fleet looks like evil capitalism.
@minx I think for the corporate roundish fleet a 70s orange/beige color scheme could be interesting? This is just based on my guts
