Just finished watching the latest episode of #WelcomeToJapanMsElf and it's definitely my favourite show of the season. ๐Ÿ™‚

The fact that they were in #Hirosaki, the same place that #FlyingWitch (my current all time favourite #anime) is set, was another good reason for me to like it.

One of these days, when I eventually get to #Japan, I'll pay a special visit to #Aomori! ๐Ÿ™‚

@tor Iโ€™m so sad I only have one more episode to watch:( I also enjoy the show, though I really strongly prefer the Japan parts. I suspect that the chances for a second season are terrible (as usual), so I might have to pick up the manga.

I had never heard of Flying Witch (made me think of Kiki, been to one of the places she flies around in:) Kungsgatan in Stockholm) but it sounds right up my current alley. Very slice of life etc. I donโ€™t need added excitement :)

@yon I've actually started reading the light novel it's based on, and as it's still publishing... yes, I find myself liking the Japanese parts too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, Flying Witch is one of those nice easy going shows that I can recommend to anyone (why it's a 10/10 for me), especially newbies to the anime scene!

Not seen Kiki though, to be honest.

@tor Iโ€™ve yet to try a light novel. I wonder if Iโ€™d enjoy it. The images in manga really draws me in after all.

(Used to read a ton, but itโ€™s been decades since I was a big reader. Read a ton.)

Might have to give Flying Witch a shot.

You have to watch Kikiโ€™s delivery service. So so amazing.

@yon while there aren't so many images, light novels do have them. I've certainly come around to preferring them... to the point where I'd read them first, before the manga, if they're available. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you want something relaxing to watch, especially after something heavy, it's a good one to do it with.

I'll get around to it eventually. ๐Ÿ™‚

@tor Bump up Kiki, itโ€™s truly amazing.
She is a flying witch as well:)

Iโ€™m kind of curious of the format of a light novel. Going from the books I normally have read to a manga format seems crazy and difficult to pull off. But light novel to manga is getting extremely common. Makes me wonder if they tend to be written with that in mind.

That said, skip the manga. I want a Terry Pratchett anime series! One season per book! All the books!

@yon light novels are generally 3-4 chapters per book and are about 50k words in length...

Yes, I have noticed that too, where light novels (sometimes) get adapted into manga first, before then getting an anime. I guess that kinda makes sense, though, as the manga shows (to the anime producers) how popular a series is.

A Discworld anime series would certainly be interesting, as they'd have plenty of options to go with for both the main series, spin-offs and movies! ๐Ÿ™‚

@tor No no, they should make an anime of all of it, in release order :)
